A chunk of spalted hackberry decided that it wanted to be a decorative vase for silk flowers.

Adding to the design is a flattened side with a very slight concave curve giving the vase various display options. A small knot also appeared as the piece was being turned and ended up being a small hole that goes fully through the side to the center of the vase.

The outside is finished with a combination of CA glue and mineral oil. The inside is still raw.
