This small bowl is made from a local piece of silver maple. Unfortunately, the tree was diseased and had to come down, but that just gives me more opportunities to make lovely items like this one!

There is some great grain on this one, including a a knot, and branch inclusion, and some of the bark. inclusion. There’s just a touch of spalting to it as well, giving little splotches of color on the very light colored wood.

It’s a great catch-all dish for spare change, keys, love notes, and of course… M&Ms…
