Would you believe that someone thought this was firewood?
The shape of this twig vase was inspired by the vintage glass bud vases by Bartlett-Collins. I’d like to think that I captured the essence of them in this design.
Salvaged from a pile here in McKinney, Texas, this piece of cherry laurel has some incredible spalting to it. As it was slightly “punky” due to some of the spalting, the inside is rougher than the outside. The inside has an extra coating of CA Glue for stability. The bottom tore a bit too much for my liking t the end, but some vintage green felt covers it well and helps to protect whatever surface you’re placing the vase on to.
The twig vase was finished with a CA Glue / mineral oil combination, ensuring a soft shine for years to come.
