Like a lot of my items, this was another fun one to turn. I purposefully mounted the branch to give the illusion that of part of the vase was missing, and in reality, it is missing. In place of part of the vase is the bark.

Adding to the design is an experimental finish when I used a metallic rose gold tint to the wood. The result is a very slight shimmer to the grain. And I mean very slight! I’ve left the wood raw, with no extra finishing other than the tinting.

The wood is most likely bradford pear, but as it was salvaged from the ground I’m not 100% sure.
