This small bowl is made from a local piece of silver maple. Unfortunately, the tree was diseased and had to come down, but that just gives me more opportunities to make lovely items like this one!
There is some great grain on this one, including a bit of a branch for an inclusion. There’s just a touch of spalting to it as well, giving little splotches of color on the very light colored wood.
The crack in the base was stabilized during turning. This bowl should serve up snacks for many years to come!
