This little vase (or twig pot if you prefer) is made from a local piece of live oak. I didn’t really have a shape in mind when I started, but it ended up looking a little bit like a mustard pot. It’s great for a small display piece, some silk flowers, or even as a pen holder for your desk. It’s definitely thicker on the bottom, so its nice and stable. The inside is still somewhat rough (I need more practice on the hard woods). There are two little grooves towards the bottom for decoration.

This was also one of my first attempts at parting the piece off while it was still turning on the lathe. If you look on the bottom you’ll see where my tool started getting dull and burning the wood.

It’s definitely handmade, and as the creator I see all the flaws. I hope you see the character.
